It's Back! Received constant inquiries asking why and if could expect VDO to reverse decision. Once it was clear Cylinder Head Temperature Kit had been permanently dropped from VDO production, Started due diligence to bring this much in demand kit to market. This kit is all "Proudly" made in the U.S.of A. with components normally employed in heavy equipment and aviation use. VDO offering was well-known, as extremely inaccurate. Mostly due to a cheap Thermocouple and connectors.
Spent many months doing research, then first-article testing to ensure this was a kit We could feel good selling to the air-cooled community.
Thermocouple is rugged Stainless Steel braided type, for standard 14mm spark plug thread (can also order kit with a 10mm or 12mm spark plug thread thermocouple. Uses threaded fasteners (supplied in kit) to ensure a tight connection, A huge chunk of supplied shrink tubing covers connections, keeping out dirt and moisture.
Comes with a printed, detailed Install Sheet. All connections from Thermocouple to Instrument are matched and color-coded, for easy install. Lighting is with a standard 12VDC 168/194 incandescent bulb to match your IP lighting scheme. Verbiage matches the no longer available kit. Thermocouple generates power to run gauge, no B+ power is needed.
Mounting is the same 2-1/16" (52mm) diameter.
This kit has a 12ft extension wire which is usually sufficient for Type 1/Type 4 cars, sand rails and buggies. I have kit in a 16ft version for Type 2 and longer applications.
